At Biostime and Inostime, our mission has always been clear: to offer babies the highest quality infant formula*, while adhering to ethical and sustainable practices . Today, we are proud to announce that our brands have reached a major milestone in our commitment by obtaining B Corp certification ! This is much more than just a certification, it is the recognition of our ongoing dedication to a greener future for the next engaged generation .
What is B Corp?
B Corp certification is a recognition awarded to companies that meet strict standards of social and environmental responsibility . It is the result of a long and rigorous process that independently examines and evaluates every aspect of our business: from the choice of raw materials to the well-being of our employees!
But our responsibility doesn't stop there: it also extends to our partners . The farms supplying our milk are carefully selected to ensure respect for animal welfare and sustainable practices , thus ensuring that our positive impact spreads well beyond our internal actions.
This certification reflects the joint efforts of all our teams to integrate ethical, environmental and social practices into all facets of our business.
We would therefore like to express our deep gratitude to all our employees who have significantly contributed to obtaining B Corp certification and making our brands a company truly committed to a better future for families, women & men... and the planet!
Why is B Corp important to us?
Since our inception, we have been committed to producing infant formulas that meet the specific nutritional needs of toddlers* while respecting the planet . We firmly believe that businesses have the power and responsibility to contribute positively to society and the environment. B Corp certification therefore reaffirms our commitment to these values, here are some examples:
Produce sustainably and locally:
- Promoting responsible French production with the Isigny Sainte-Mère Cooperative (Normandy) as our partner for our infant milks. The Cooperative belongs to dairy farmers, which guarantees fair compensation for farmers, and this is how we support the local economy.
- Being concerned about animal welfare : dairy farmers who comply with the Charter of Good Livestock Practices and their farms are assessed using the Boviwell tool, which guarantees the well-being of the cows (mainly outdoors, with access to pastures as soon as the weather permits, balanced feed, bright buildings with comfortable and sufficiently sized living areas, presence of hedgerows as shelter when it rains or is sunny, etc.).
- Choosing fully recyclable packaging for our infant milks, with a box made from 58% recycled steel.
- Committing to the planet with Biostime and organic dairy farmers as part of our Low Carbon project . Collaborative training sessions supported by the Normandy Chamber of Agriculture were organized on various themes: solutions to reduce the carbon footprint, heifer breeding, animal health, renewable energy, etc.
Ensuring the well-being of our employees:
- Guarantee a safe and healthy working environment , promoting the balance between professional and personal development. We have also been awarded GREAT PLACE TO WORK, a label that measures Quality of Life at Work.
- Annual mobilization during our Community Day during which all our employees take action to raise funds to support an association that we support throughout the year.
- Sorting of our waste on our premises, which is collected and then recycled by Les Joyeux Recycleurs.
- Support for charitable and environmental associations (MaMaMa association, Secours Populaire Français, Emmaüs, Maison Tom Pouce, Fondation Good Planète, etc.) through product and financial donations throughout the year.
This certification does not mark an end in itself, but rather a confirmation that we are on the right track. We are continuing this quest by improving our practices and redoubling our efforts to best represent our values as a socially and environmentally responsible company .
For you parents, B Corp certification is an additional assurance that our products are manufactured with the greatest care and in compliance with the highest standards of sustainability and social responsibility.
