What balanced breakfast for a baby?

A good breakfast is essential, whether you're a fully grown adult or a tiny baby. While a baby may be satisfied with just their daily milk intake until they start eating solid foods, they may soon need supplemental milk (either from a bottle or breastfeeding)...

What constitutes a balanced breakfast for a baby?

So that's a very good question, and the answer is: it depends! Yes, it depends first on your baby's age, and then on their hunger. Until you start introducing solid foods, which is between 4 and 6 months, milk alone will satisfy your little one. Then, they might need a little more to last until lunchtime. So, while milk (from a bottle or the breast) remains essential until the age of 3, you can also give them fruit, starting right from the beginning of weaning. Then, from 12 months onwards, you can add cereals along with milk and fruit (the three pillars of a good breakfast) because their energy needs increase rapidly. This will also be an opportunity for them to discover new textures and flavors.
