Goat's milk infant formula: an alternative to cow's milk

Lait infantile de chèvre : une alternative au lait de vache

Are you looking for an alternative to cow's milk for your baby? Goat's milk is a good solution for your baby if you want to give them milk that's structurally similar to breast milk 3,4 . Discover all its nutritional benefits!

Important Notice : Breast milk is the ideal and natural food for every infant. According to WHO recommendations, the best food for babies between 0 and 6 months is their mother's milk. Biostime follows the principles of the WHO Code and therefore does not communicate on products intended for children under 6 months. Your doctor or pharmacist is the only one authorized to advise you on these products.

Goat's milk and its nutritional qualities

Good news: goat's milk has similar characteristics to breast milk 3,4 ! It also contains the essential nutrients 5 for your baby's healthy development.

Goat's milk also contains calcium 5 - essential for your baby to build strong bones - and contains DHA 6 which contributes to the normal development of eyesight in infants up to 12 months: it's so precious!

Goat's milk and cow's milk: what are the differences?

We'll tell you everything! For your baby, whether it's goat's milk or cow's milk, it will be just as nutritious and will provide everything your baby needs 5 . So officially there is no best infant milk! Wait a minute, there are still differences between these two products:

  • Taste: Some babies don't like the taste of cow's milk and have trouble getting used to it. At Biostime, we offer a delicately flavored goat's milk formula for your baby's greatest pleasure!
  • Some specific components: components structurally identical to those of breast milk are preserved. Infant goat milk contains proteins* which are not very dense in the stomach and therefore allow an efficient digestion process 8 , and carbohydrates, called oligosaccharides, which nourish the baby's intestinal microbiota 3 .
  • Environmental impact: Goat farming produces 6 times less methane (one of the main greenhouse gases) than cow farming 2 . And less greenhouse gas is always better for fighting climate change!

SN-2 Bio Goat: nutritious and works for the planet 2 !

Because we are committed to taking care of your baby's health while limiting our carbon impact, we have developed an organic goat's milk infant formula with nutritional 5 and ecological 2 qualities.

With our team of experts, we have carefully crafted the composition of this goat's milk formula, which contains the essentials for your baby. Here are its 3 key components:

  • Dairy lipids provided by whole goat's milk that replace palm oil. Naturally rich in palmitic acid and having a structure similar to breast milk, whole goat's milk gives Biostime SN-2 Bio Chèvre 2nd and 3rd age formulas a lipid profile adapted to the needs of your baby. Indeed, the structure of palmitic acid present in whole goat's milk tends to improve its absorption in your baby's tummy 9 .
  • DHA 6 which contributes to the normal development of vision in infants up to 12 months.
  • The combination of organic fibers and bifidus lactic ferments which contribute to the development of a healthy microbiota for your baby. 10

The little eco-friendly extras of this organic baby milk? To guarantee quality milk, the goats are free to graze outdoors whenever they want 11 ! And we didn't choose just any goats: they are Saanen goats, known for the delicate taste of their milk 12. Using their whole milk gives our SN-2 Organic Goat 2nd and 3rd Age formulas a devilishly delicious taste 7. In addition, they benefit from a natural diet that is 60% locally produced and certified organic. Antibiotics and hormones are prohibited 11. And to top it all off, we favor manufacturing in Normandy, at the Isigny Sainte-Mère cooperative.

*Important: beware of allergies!

90% of babies with a cow's milk protein allergy are also allergic to goat's milk protein. 7 If your baby has this type of allergy, there's a good chance that goat's milk formula isn't suitable either. It's best to seek advice from a healthcare professional.
