What fish should I give a 6-month-old baby?

Quel poisson donner à un bébé de 6 mois ?

From 6 months old, your baby can discover the flavors of different fish. Rich in protein, selenium, iodine, fluoride, and omega-3 essential fatty acids, fish is an excellent food for your baby's health! Here are some tips to help make its introduction to fish a success...

How do you introduce fish into your baby's diet?

At first, we prefer white fish (cod, pollock, pollock, etc.), but also salmon. However, we avoid smoked and canned fish, which are too strong and too salty. And we pay attention to the bones! For example, we avoid sea bream, which has too many.

Mix 2 teaspoons (10g for those who weigh!) of cooked fish, preferably steamed, into the vegetable puree. Then serve this preparation every other lunchtime, alternating with the meat.

The bigger your baby gets, the bigger the portion of fish: from 8 months, he can eat 4 teaspoons (20 g). The choice of fish is also wider: mackerel and sardines are welcome!

Then Baby will be able to eat small pieces of fish and even try mussels and shrimps, if they are fresh and well cooked (from 1 year old).

Please note that babies at risk of allergies (family history) should not eat fish during their first year of life.
