From 8 or 10 months old, most babies have one thing in mind: to live life to the fullest! To satisfy their thirst for discovery (and their legendary sweet tooth), we've created organic biscuits specially designed for little ones.
When to start baby's first biscuits?
Babies' first teeth generally appear between 5 and 10 months. 8 months is therefore an ideal age to start introducing biscuits and discover new textures and flavors. This way, your baby can start teething while still enjoying chewing! However, it's important to follow a few guidelines before giving them their first ladyfingers or banana squares.
Your baby must:
- Sitting up in a high chair on your own
- Already be used to eating bread and small dishes with melting pieces
- Already have two teeth
Regardless, at Good Goût, we know that all children go at their own pace. If in doubt, don't hesitate to consult your doctor.
How to choose a baby biscuit?
In the biscuit aisle, it's easy to get dizzy. Especially when you're looking for recipes suitable for little ones. Admittedly, there's almost always something wrong: too compact, too soft, too sweet, too many crumbs, too many strange ingredients... Ladyfingers, on the other hand, are often made up of (among other things) sugars, a single cereal, eggs, and vegetable oil. This recipe, while seemingly simple, is less nutritionally complete than our biscuits. Ladyfingers also contain a lot of sugar. On average, for 100g of ladyfingers, you'll find between 25g and 33g, or 12% of the recommended sugar for the day, in a very small volume of food.
At Good Goût, we've racked our brains to offer babies a range of delicious organic biscuits that offer a wide variety of tastes and shapes, adapted to the needs, little hands and teeth of babies from 8 months old.
What biscuit for an 8 month old baby?
From 8 months, your baby is ready to bite into their first biscuit! But not just any biscuit: a biscuit adapted to their needs and specially designed for teething. The texture of our squares is similar to that of a soft toast. At first, your baby will encounter a slightly crunchy texture, then upon contact with their saliva, our squares will become softer and gradually melt in their mouth.
Its texture is therefore ideal and specifically designed for your baby to chew and suck on to gently help their teeth come out! With less than 1g of sugar per serving* and a fruity taste to boot, your baby will love them!
If your little one isn't ready to chew on our delicious squares yet, you can also crumble them into a small bowl or fruit pouch. You can also ask your pediatrician for advice, who will be able to advise you!
*One serving is 3 squares!
What biscuit for a 10-month-old baby?
From 10 months:
- Our round vanilla (44% less sugar*) and cocoa (36% less sugar*) biscuits , which are designed in a ring shape for teething.
- Our lemony animal-shaped biscuits support a great cause: saving Botswana's elephants! They're also 40% less sweet*
- Our mini baguettes , shaped like small sticks, are perfect for easy handling... and why not for a family aperitif!
At Good Goût, we are fully aware that the development and autonomy of toddlers to eat between 10 and 14 months varies greatly from one child to the next. Because we closely monitor your feedback and want to offer products that best meet your child's physiological needs, a new age recommendation is currently being reviewed by our quality and innovation departments for the consumption of mini-baguettes. We will keep you informed as soon as possible of our progress on this subject.
