Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! The teeth are out!

Aïe ! Aïe ! Aïe ! Les dents sont de sortie !

We often hear that we adults can't bear the pain of teething...that's how brave our babies are! While we have to suffer between 4 months and 2 years before fully enjoying the pleasures of life, here are some wise tips to support and relieve our babies during this period.

Signs of Teething

Before you see the little white tip emerge from your baby's gum, you can tell by your child's behavior that his teeth are working:

  • He chews on everything he finds and drools more than usual . Labor begins, teething increases saliva production. Wetness can be unpleasant for your baby. A simple bib will help keep his little neck dry.
  • he has red cheeks and/or buttocks , it is the alarm signal of his gums which are starting to act.
  • He has become grumpy, sleeps less and has a fever , his tooth is about to come out!

Help, my baby is in pain!

Any parent will tell you, there's nothing worse than seeing your baby in pain! Fortunately, there are simple ways to soothe our babies during teething:

  • homeopathy ( Camilia , do you know it? A homeopathic medicine to soothe your baby when he is teething) or amber necklaces which help to calm teething in some babies.
  • a dose of special baby doliprane in case of fever above 38.5° (always depending on the baby's weight).
  • Gum massages with a small, specially designed toothbrush , dental gel or even just your little finger (obviously very clean); this can do him good.
  • An object to chew on to help teething and gums erupt. They come in all shapes and textures. Some can be placed in the refrigerator to provide cold to the gums. Wooden rings, plastic objects, or even the famous giraffe, all these little toys will amuse your baby and help them without them even realizing it. To help you choose, Good Goût has selected the Matchstick Monkey. It's our favorite! An adorable and colorful little plastic monkey that allows your baby to easily hold, target, and relieve their pain. The nubs on the back of its head make it easier for parents to apply gel or granules. It can also be placed in the freezer and soothe the gums with the anesthetic effect of the cold, available here
  • Give him chewable foods, bread or biscuits . But not just any... Choose those that aren't too sweet! And at Good Goût, we've designed a whole range of biscuits perfectly suited to your baby's nutritional needs. The latest in the range, the round vanilla biscuits , from 10 months: ring-shaped, significantly less sweet than a standard baby biscuit, they can be chewed at will.

With your rings, oils, small brushes and other toys, you are armed to the teeth to face your baby's teething.
