Palm oil-free infant milk, the right choice for your baby

Gros plan sur des feuilles de palme vertes, fines et allongées

Whether you've just emerged from the long hibernation required for space travel or are disembarking aboard your time machine, draped in a handsome Victorian frock coat, a single trip to what we call a "supermarket" is enough to reveal that many packages display a logo indicating "palm oil free." Great Scott! What is this strange substance? And what are the dangers of palm oil?

Palm oil, but what's the problem with that one anyway?!

Palm oil is hard to avoid; it's everywhere: in ready-made meals, cookies, sliced bread, those famous spreads of course, but also in some shampoos and even toothpastes! A miracle ingredient? If only... No, the main advantages of this oil are its low cost and its texture, which remains solid at room temperature, making it a great texturizing agent. The list of its qualities ends there.

In terms of composition, palmitic acid is the main fatty acid in palm oil. Did you know that breast milk naturally contains 23% palmitic acid? Well, at Good Goût , we use whole milk to make our infant formulas , which already contains enough palmitic acid: so there's no need to add any more!

Conversely, wherever oil palm is cultivated (Africa, South America, and especially Indonesia and Malaysia), the ecological disaster is immense. With consumption of this oil constantly increasing, new palm plantations are being established at the expense of primary forests. Deforestation by fire (Indonesia is the world's third-largest emitter of CO2 due to forest fires) has already destroyed, according to the WWF, 90% of the forests in these Southeast Asian countries.

And unfortunately, we know this story all too well; the disappearance of primary forests means an increase in greenhouse gases, the loss of unique biodiversity, the disappearance of the tiger, the orangutan...

Another slice of bread?

Why palm oil in milk? Our commitment to palm oil-free infant formula!

Palm oil is everywhere, as we've said. So much so that it's also present in many infant formulas.

It provides the saturated fatty acids that babies absolutely need at this age. But at Good Goût , instead of using palm oil, they've chosen to use the RIGHT fat: whole milk cream. Much tastier, its superior taste is undeniable, and what's more, it has the added benefit of being of French origin (the milk is collected in France!).

Your baby has just been born into this world, and it's crucial not to make this little one an unwitting contributor to palm oil production. Providing good products for a child is good, but doing everything possible to safeguard their future is essential!

Our organic infant milk is therefore rich in omega 3, made in France with whole milk produced in France and of course, without palm oil!

I'm going to make myself a bottle instead, thanks!
