For almost everyone, holidays mean relaxation and discovery… but when you're a new parent, they can also mean logistics! Especially when it comes to baby's meals, which requires a bit of organization to make sure everything runs smoothly! Here are some practical (and stress-free!) tips to help you travel with peace of mind and fully enjoy your family getaways.

Traveling with a baby: how to best organize yourself depending on the mode of transport?

Whether you're traveling by car, train, or plane, a few tips can help you plan ahead and travel with peace of mind. When traveling by car, plan regular stops for diaper changes and meals, and keep snacks readily available. When traveling by train, check the schedule and reserve a seat with a table for meals. On airplanes, liquids for babies are generally permitted; remember to pack a ready-to-use bottle, some snacks, and be prepared for sucking during takeoff and landing (pacifier or bottle) to prevent ear pain. For added security, you can pack baby food in a separate plastic bag, because while baby food also travels well, it can be subjected to rough handling by baggage handlers…

As for accessories to pack in the suitcase: think about bottles, bibs, small containers, spoons, water bottles, cups, a measuring box, small unbreakable dishes, and a compact cleaning kit (brush, baby dishwashing liquid, etc.).

Plan ahead… yes, but without overloading your suitcase!

Baby's holiday essentials!

Planning ahead is key! Review your baby's nutritional needs for the entire trip: infant formula*, comforting meals (like that precious evening bottle with cereal), favorite fruit pouches, and snacks for when they get peckish. Take the time to think about your baby's nutritional needs for the duration of your stay. Are they starting solids? Still on formula*? Do they have any preferences or intolerances to consider? The idea is to be one step ahead so you don't get caught out. As for accessories, pack the essentials: bibs (otherwise you might spend your vacation staring at the waves through the washing machine window...), a measuring jug, a soft spoon, and their favorite cup. And to be prepared for the unexpected, a mini first-aid kit and a few spare diapers will do the trick!

Lighten your suitcase without stress

No need to bring everything: opt for ready-to-eat meals that are easy to store (baby food jars, pouches, snacks). Pack just what you need for the first few days, then supplement on-site or have it delivered! Limit the dishes to the essentials (spoon, cup, bibs) and check what's available at the location (crib, high chair, bathtub, etc.). So, there are three simple rules:

Lightness, practicality and efficiency! In addition, a simple checklist a few days before departure can also help you and make all the difference.

Planning ahead is often key. And summer vacation is no exception! Before you leave and pack your bags, take the time to think about your baby's nutritional needs for the duration of your stay. Are they starting solids? Still on milk*? Do they have any preferences or intolerances to consider? The idea is to be one step ahead so you don't get caught out. For bottle-fed babies, bring your usual supply of formula * or have it delivered directly to your vacation destination. For those who are already eating almost like grown-ups, make some room in your suitcase for comforting meals and ritual recipes (like that comforting evening bottle with cereal !). And don't forget the bibs… Otherwise, you might end up spending your vacation staring at the waves through the washing machine window.

Adapt baby's meals to the holiday schedule

During the holidays, we all want (and need!) to slow down. So there's no need to stick to a rigid, pre-planned menu; the important thing is that your child eats their fill, respecting their habits as much as possible (schedules, textures, tastes), but maintaining some flexibility. Relaxing away from home doesn't mean abandoning your principles… quite the opposite! It's also about adapting to this summer break. New house, new rhythm, new climate, fatigue, heat: babies' needs, like ours, can change during the holidays. We also suggest opting for flexible, lightweight, resealable, and easy-to-carry packaging, like fruit pouches or fruit purees .

How to prepare balanced meals for baby while on vacation?

On vacation, we maintain the general principles of a balanced diet, without aiming for perfection. What matters is variety, simplicity… and enjoyment!

Key points to remember:

Milk*: Still the foundation until 12 months, milk* remains the main food. Baby continues to breastfeed or take bottles, generally 3 to 4 times a day.

🥦 Unlimited vegetables: Offer cooked and pureed vegetables, alone or mixed together. Choose seasonal vegetables and adjust the texture according to the baby's age (smooth, pureed or mashed).

One serving of protein per day: From 6 months old, your child can consume a small amount of animal or plant-based protein once a day:
- 10g (2 teaspoons) of meat, well-cooked fish or crushed hard-boiled egg or legumes (lentils, chickpeas) once a week, a few spoonfuls and well blended!

Starchy foods for energy: Rice, pasta, potatoes, semolina, polenta… Starchy foods are there to complete meals. They are mixed with vegetables or proteins for a nourishing and easily digestible dish.

Gentle fruit options: Purée, mashed banana, soft pieces to suck on (depending on age)... Fruit is often well-received and provides vitamins and fiber. On vacation, pouches are convenient to slip into a bag.

And of course, water! From birth to 4 months, offer water in case of high temperatures, fever, vomiting, or diarrhea. Between 4 months and 3 years, water should be available at all times in a glass! 😉
There's no need to try and recreate the perfect meals from home. On vacation, you make the best of what you have. The important thing is to continue offering a variety of foods in a relaxed atmosphere, respecting your baby's rhythm, and enjoying this magical time as a family!

Our tips based on your favorite destination

Every vacation spot has its share of little challenges! Sand that gets everywhere, a backpack that's always too heavy on hikes, shade that's hard to find… Luckily, there are plenty of tips and practical advice to help you fully enjoy your favorite places without stressing out. And who knows, the beach, the mountains, or the woods might even become the perfect playground for flexibly adapting your routines.

Beach day

Pack simple, portable, and heat-resistant meals. A soft cooler, fruit pouches, or a convenient fresh dessert like organic baby food , mini baguettes , snacks , and plenty of water will be your best friends. To avoid sand, keep your baby in the shade in their stroller. If there's a beach bar or restaurant nearby, don't hesitate to ask if one of our microwaveable bowls can be heated up.

Mountain hiking

It's a well-known fact: the mountains are invigorating and work up an appetite! Take advantage of this to offer more substantial meals, and remember to keep your baby well hydrated. Hiking can sometimes delay mealtimes, so always keep a snack on hand, like our mini baguettes with cheese and rosemary.

Forest getaway

Decided to get some fresh air in the countryside? We love the idea! Pack some water, a fruit pouch , and our Forest Biscuits in your backpack for a truly royal treat! Even if the walk is shaded, remember to cover your babies; ticks have a nasty habit of falling from trees!

Wherever you go, the most important thing is to enjoy yourself, adapt, and share these wonderful moments with your family. And what about meals? We're here to help!

Have a great holiday and we're waiting for your postcards!
