In pharmacies and supermarkets alike, baby bottle aisles all have one thing in common: they can easily make your head spin. Materials, sizes, capacities, and teat shapes: Dodie takes a look for you.
Glass or plastic baby bottle: it’s up to you!
At Dodie, we have developed two ranges of baby bottles available in plastic and glass (so no one will be jealous!). Two very different materials, but each with their own advantages: robust, durable and resistant to thermal shock, the pharmaceutical-grade glass baby bottle has been scoring points for over 60 years in terms of longevity and strength. For the plastic baby bottle, it is above all its maneuverability and lightness that make the difference. No need to worry, in addition to being unbreakable, Dodie plastic baby bottles are obviously free of Bisphenol A* and S. Choosing between glass and plastic is therefore above all a question of point of view!
Little by little, the bottle grows...
Small, medium or large: the right bottle is the one that corresponds to the size of your child. So we start with the small bottles: they are 150 ml and are perfect for following up breastfeeding. We will then opt for an intermediate-sized bottle (270 ml) until your baby is 6 months old. Then, you can easily move on to the large model (330 ml) when it is time to start weaning. In fact, it's simple: the more your child grows, the larger the bottle will be to adapt to their infant milk needs.
And Dodie invented the triangular bottle!
You may have noticed (or not!), but not all baby bottles have the same shape. Since it was invented in the 1960s by Dodie, the triangular bottle has been a staple in maternity wards. A large number of midwives will tell you: it is really, really, really practical. Easy to handle (for both babies and parents), easy to wash, ideal for avoiding lumps during the mixing stage, it also has that little extra that makes all the difference in everyday life: it doesn't roll when it falls to the ground! Thanks to the ergonomic cap designed by Dodie, it is easy to open with one hand (and that's important when you have a baby in your arms!).
Which pacifiers for my baby?
Now that you're practically an expert on baby bottles, all that's left is to choose the nipple. To seamlessly transition from breast to bottle, Dodie has an idea: take inspiration from mothers' morphology. With their flattened nipples that closely resemble the shape of the breast during feeding, the bottles in the Sensation+ range make this big change child's play! Babies love them, too. Adapted to the mouths of toddlers and available in 5 flow rates, Dodie's flat nipples are accepted by 95% of babies**. If you're looking for a peaceful and smooth feeding experience, then the bottles with round nipples in the Initiation+ range are for you! Adjustable thanks to their 3 speeds that adapt to baby's sucking rhythm and anti-lump, these bottles transform feeding into a long, calm river. The big advantage of the round teat? It doesn't leak even when it's upside down... Goodbye stained sofa and soaked pajamas! And if it's regurgitation that's worrying you, rest assured: our Sensation+ and Initiation+ bottles are all anti-colic.
